SUBMIT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS AND STORY PROPOSALS TO FOTO8 AND 8 MAGAZINE

What we are looking for:

8 FEATURES: Specific stories, that may consist of coverage of international affairs, projects on personal themes or an exploration of story telling through the medium of photography. Long term personal projects are of special interest to us, those that are unique and haven't necessarily been published.  If your work is selceted as a 'story of the week' we may ask if you have any related sound-clips or a recorded narration to enhance the slideshow, however this is not essential.

FICTION: New writings on any theme.
SHORT FILMS: Documentary films or multimedia work of a journalistic nature.

How to submit:
We will aim to get back to you within one month of reciept, but please be patient as we receive a great deal of submissions.

Attach your images along with story synopsis and be sure to include any further contact details. Please do not send only a URL link, we prefer to look at specific projects with the magazine or foto8 website in mind, rather than portfolios.

FILE SIZE: Please email only low resolution (72dpi) images and do not include more than 25 in total. Keep note of the date of sending and subject line for further coorespondence with us.






BY POST
CD / Prints / Slides:

1. Put together an edit of images as printouts or as files on a CD
2. Include a short written story synopsis
3. Post your package to the address below:

DO NOT SEND negatives or original slides. Remeber to supply a stamped addressed envelope if you would like your work returned.
FILE SIZE: Images should be at least 1024 pixels in width or length saved at a resolution of 72 dpi.




SHARE A LIGHTBOX
Send photographs direct to foto8 from your own online archive.

1. Assemble your scanned photographs or digital files and include captions within the image "file info".

2. Build an online archive for your photo stories with a photo archive or collection site. (Eg: Photobucket, Flickr,  Digital Railroad, Picture Tank.. etc)

3. Create a lightbox of your specific story and share with us at: foto8pictures [at] gmail.com








Portfolio Reviews:

If you have a specific story or feature in mind for the magazine that you would like to come in and show us, please feel free to ring up and speak to Lauren to organise a meeting.

If you would like someone to have a look at your general portfolio, Jon is sometimes available to give portfolio reviews and as he does spend quite some time giving advice, it costs £10 for a session.
