Gdansk, Polish Lives Found in Translation

Marta Michalowska’s GDANSK is an exciting new publishing collaboration between THE WAPPING PROJECT, LONDON and MIEDZY NAMI, WARSAW.
Produced to accompany a series of films and images by Michalowska, which were shown at the Wapping Project in May 2008 which capture in a wholly direct way the lives of her friends, her mother, the architecture as well as the literal and metaphorical ruins of a communist past.
The book includes a number of Marta’s stories based around the Polish passion for food, which is only equalled by the passion for fine vodka.
