Both winners will see their work printed at Spectrum Photographic, one of Europe’s leading fine art pro labs, and exhibited at HOST Gallery. In addition, the series winner will pick up a Nikon D700 plus a 50mm 1.4G lens, and the single image winner a Sigma DP1x digital compact camera, professional compact kit.

The 2011 winners are Chloe Dewe Mathews for the series prize, with her project Caspian and Facundo Arrizabalaga for his single image from the student riots in London in November 2010.

Peter diCampo won the 2010 series prize with a thought-provoking set of images titled Life Without Lights, which was shot in rural Ghana and depicts everyday life in a country which is in darkness 12 hours a day but has little access to electricity. Michelle Sank won the single image prize last year with her image of a man lying face down in the grass in the Golden Mile, Durban, South Africa.

This year's series prize was judged by Charlotte Cotton, creative director NMM, Alexia Singh, editor-in-charge, wider image desk, Thomson Reuters and Stuart Smith, from photobook specialist Smith Design. The single image prize was judged by Monica Allende, picture editor, The Sunday Times, Lauren Heinz, Foto8 and Hannah Watson, co-director, Trolley Books.
