Foto8 is pleased to announce Books: From Dummy to Genius, a seminar on "All you need to know about publishing your book project".
This is a workshop for an intimately sized group of photographers on the verge of publishing their first book. During the seminar we will be exploring a variety of publishing formats from self-published books to traditional large scale distribution publications. Renowned practitioners, editors and publishers will come to HOST to share their insider knowledge and first hand experiences from the world of photo books.
Subjects on the agenda include: conceiving the project, presenting a dummy project to publishers, editing and sequencing, creating a narrative with design, the best use of words, differing print and production methods, finding a publisher and distribution, editions and sales. Participants in the seminar will have a unique opportunity to network and exchange ideas with some of the best minds in the business of contemporary book editing, design and publishing.
