2 down 67 to go...: Foto8 at Photo España in Madrid

Apart from the Eugene Smith show, we managed to make it to one other yesterday. Turns out that a lot of the shows have not even opened yet and we were turned away from a few gallery doors. De Viaje was the one that we managed to make the opening of… a collection of five photographers’ work, one of which, Pablo Lopez, included some quite stunning large format cityscapes of Mexico City and people in its parks.  The Motorcycle Diary by Mateo Lopez was intriguingly displayed, while  the travel images in the central gallery space were  little more than your average holiday snaps.

The theme of the festival, by the way, is PLACE. We will try and see how that works out as we visit the different shows.
