Photographers are often at the frontline of many difficult reporting situations, witnessing and recording images from war zones and disaster areas. Images are a powerful way of telling a story, with great impact on audiences. But what of the photojournalists responsible for these images? This roundtable discussion will address issues of self-care and support among photojournalists and look at the challenges photographers face in representing the people they are photographing. Discussion will be led by Paul Lowe, award-winning photographer and course director of the Masters in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the London College of Communication and Gavin Rees, Director of Dart Centre Europe.
