We are very pleased to announce that Greg Constantine has been nominated for an Amnesty International UK Media Award for his exhibition at HOST - Kenya's Nubians Then & Now.

Nominated in the 'photojournalism' category, the exhibition was on at HOST in November 2010. The show combined rare, historical photographs of the Nubian community in Kenya dating back to 1912, along with Constantine’s own work on the community’s struggle for recognition. The work promotes the dynamic and rich history of a community few in Kenya and the United Kingdom are aware of, and it tells the story of a community who, as one Nubian elder described is, “being squeezed into extinction”.

The Amnesty International UK Media Awards recognise excellence in human rights reporting and acknowledge journalism’s significant contribution to the UK public’s awareness and understanding of human rights issues.

Winners will be announced in a ceremony at the BFI on Tuesday 24 May.
