Winner of the People's Choice Fujifilm X10 Award 2012

The winner of this year's People's Choice was announced at the Summershow closing party. And the winner is....

'In the Woods' by Nigel Grimmer!

‘In the Woods’ received the most votes cast by visitors to the gallery since the show launched on 6 July 2012. Grimmer was awarded with his prize, a Fujifilm X10 premium compact digital camera, at the closing party for the Summershow on 16 August.

Grimmer said of winning the award: "As an artist working with photography it was a great surprise to even get into the Foto8 Summershow, and an even bigger surprise to win the People's Choice Award! I'm a Lecturer in Photographic Art and I was really impressed with the range and quality of the work in the exhibition. I will encourage all my students to apply next year; it would be an amazing first step in their career if some got chosen. I am already thinking about my entry for next year too, maybe I'll shoot it with my new camera! Thank you to everyone who came to visit the show, and for voting for my work!"

Also announced was the third place, ‘Katie, 2012’ by Alma Haser and second place which went to ‘Almost Live’ by Gianluca Pannella. This year we are extremely grateful for the participation of Fujifilm in providing the People’s Choice prize.
