One year on from the uprising in Egypt that led to the resignation of Hosni Mubarak on 11 February 2011, Foto8 has curated an exhibition of photography by Guy Martin and Ivor Prickett documenting the unrest in Cairo’s Tahrir Square. The exhibition is now on at Foto8 Gallery until 10 March 2012.
Guy Martin and Ivor Prickett were among the hundreds of photographers and journalists who were documenting these historic events in Tahrir Square over two weeks. Their work captures not only the chaotic scenes of violence, but the jubilation of victory and the quiet moments of contemplation after the storm.
Guy Martin and Ivor Prickett are represented by Panos Pictures.
Egypt’s political situation is, one year on, far from certain. Please share your comments on this exhibition and your opinion on the repercussions of these events for the future of Egypt, North Africa and the Middle East.
