Foto8 was established in 1998 as website at foto8.com, known as 'the home of photojournalism'. In 2001 it published the first print issue of 8 Magazine. Over the next decade Foto8 published 29 magazine issues and five individual photo books.

The magazine's offices on Honduras street in London, were also the home of HOST Gallery, a physical gallery for exhibitions of photographers and an event space for photojournalism events.

In November 2012, after 14 years of publishing, supporting and creating exciting projects with photographers, Foto8 sadly closed its doors and ceased trading. The following links below preserve much of Foto8 work online.
