Car Park by Astrid Schulz

Many times – when sitting on a plane and looking out of the window – I wondered how it would be inside a cloud, where everything is white.

Last December I learned – of course – one would see absolutely nothing. We had to wait one day for enough visability in order to walk away from the hotel, down to the car park where we arrived at the beginning of a snowstorm 2 days earlier.

As I am living in a big city where it does not snow that often, I was not expecting to get numbed by so much white. Everything had disappeared – everything was out of function – everything was just so silent.

All images were taken at Spindleruv Bouda, Krkonose, (about 1200m above see level), north of Czech Republic, on the last day of December 2005.
