No, this not a linear story about people. But it is an ongoing collection of objects that tells us something about ourselves. A contemplative sidebar to life, showcasing an object made by a society that has lost its desire for contemplation. Could it be that it is also an object that has helped to contribute to some of this cultural transience? Or have we somehow lost sight of the fact that these same pumps fuelled Robert Franks journey some 40 years ago?
Fill it up and get back on the road. |
