On July 3, 1999, Gloria entered the ring in the Mexico arena - scene of great boxers. She was wearing white shorts and red gloves. With her children and husband cheering her on from the stands, she accomplished the first of her goals in boxing.
She beat the stigma of the "weaker sex" in the ring. Four attacks were enough to be able to raise her arms in victory, so that everyone could have the experience of seeing a woman give and take the blows of glory.
