EI8HT magazine has been short-listed in the ‘BEST USE OF PHOTOGRAPHY’ category in the 2004 Magazine Design Awards (MDA) from a field of over 600 entries. This follows hot on the heels of EI8HT’s success in June in the One World Broadcast Trust awards, where Alfredo D’Amato snapped up the Photojournalism award for his story ‘Iron People’ (EI8HT Vol.2 No.3). The MDA winner will be announced on 16th September and EI8HT’s nominated entry can be previewed in the Press Gazette short-list supplement that will be published in the UK tomorrow, 20 August 2004.
EI8HT magazine’s new issue, Vol.3 No.2, hit newsstands 13th August and is the biggest issue to date. This new issue features work by Tom Stoddart, Adrian Fisk, John Spinks and Fifty Crows award winners Mark Leong and Ahikam Seri among others on subjects as diverse as radical settlers to the decline of a UK mining village, and from snake charmers in India to a view from inside an Egyptian hammam.
EDITOR’s NOTE: EI8HT can be bought at bookshops including Borders, Waterstones and specialist photographic shops and galleries, priced £8, or by subscription at http://www.foto8.com. Artwork from the current issue for press purposes is available on request.
