The work of 11 Iranian artists has been curated by Omid Salehi as a way to raise awareness of the foundation, which empowers disadvantaged young women in Tehran. He says: “Every photographer shows different aspects of Iranian society. However, they interpret the real from a perspective that is entirely their own. That is why these pictures are unique and important.”
Each photographer has contributed three images to the exhibition and these are on sale and specially discounted for the website. Half of the proceeds will go to Omid-e-Mehr, which operates a foundation and shelter in Tehran where extensive workshops, given by Salehi and Golestan, among other artists, have enabled runaway and abused young women to photograph and write about their lives and experiences.
Photographers include: Mehrdad Asgari, Gohar Dashti, Amirali Ghasemi, Hengameh Golestan, Babak Kazemi, Mehdi Moghimnejad, Omid Salehi, Hasan Sarbakhshian, Jalal Sepehr, Arman Stepanian, Newsha Tavakolian.
