Living in the Shadow of Volcan de Fuego

    15 Jul 2009
Volcan de Fuego de Colima, is one of Mexico’s most active volcanoes. It last erupted in 2005 and scientists predict another serious eruption is imminent. The town of La Yerbabuena lies in the exclusion zone, directly in the path of Volcan de Fuego de Colima. In 2006, La Yerbabuena was permanently evacuated and while most of the residents left, a number still remain, refusing to leave their homes. They believe that when the time comes, God or the volcano itself will save them.
