An afternoon of talks and discussion, exploring some of the pressing issues for contemporary photographers. What new opportunities exists for photographers? What are the pitfalls and how can we sustain our professional practices in the current economic climate? How are new photographic practices being supported and disseminated?
Symposium participants include: Malcolm Dickson (Street Level Photoworks); Patrick Henry (Open Eye Gallery); Camilla Brown (Photographers’ Gallery); Greg Hobson (National Media Museum); Marc Prust (freelance photography consultant and curator); Susanna Brown (V&A); Lauren Heinz (Foto8) and Sarah Pickering (artist/photographer). The event will be chaired by Alessandro Vincentelli (Curator, Baltic).
Admission to the symposium is free, but booking in advance is essential.
Portfolio Reviews will take place on Saturday 13 March, 9.30 – 2.30, with the following reviewers:
