Slideluck Miniclick at Brighton Photo Fringe
Sunday 11 November
12:30pm-4:00pm
The Green Door Store, Brighton. Free Entry.
www.slideluckpotshow.com
The afternoon will consist of a potluck-style lunch – the attendees are invited to bring home made dishes – followed by an eclectic programme of slideshows, bringing together members of the photography, art and media communities for a day of eating, drinking and visual storytelling.
This extra-ordinary edition, directed by Maria Teresa Salvati, will present a selection of photo-stories from the past 5 years selected and curated by Louise Clements Artistic Director of QUAD and FORMAT International Photography Festival, and Rebecca McClelland, Photography Director at NewStatesman, Associate Lecturer Photo UCA & Creative Director at Ian Parry Scholarship.
What makes this an extra-ordinary event is the fact that Slideluck landed for the very first time in London, in 2007, so this is our 5th birthday. We have excited to bring to Brighton a preview of a retrospective of the best photography slideshows and multimedia stories presented in the past five years. The themes explored in the past years, include: ‘Energy’, ‘Multiculturalism’ and ‘Gender & Identity’. The names that Slideluck has brought to the Capital range from emerging and established photographers of the likes of: Spencer Tunick, Alex Webb, Sebastián Liste, Anastasia Taylor-Lind, Alvaro Laiz and many others.
