On Tuesday 10th April Somali Relief and Development Forum is holding Stories from Somalia, a photography exhibition and auction that will take place at Foto8 Gallery. They will showcase a selection of photographers in order to raise funds for the drought-stricken Horn of Africa.

By examining prints from award winning photojournalists Kate Holt, Sebastian Rich and Ed Ou, Stories from Somalia takes us on a journey that bravely addresses the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Somalia that has affected tens of thousands of people. The famine is put into context with the work of Virginia Luling, a leading anthropologist, in an effort to capture the cultural and ethnic identity of the Somali peoples.

SRDF with its member organisations aims to highlight that without pressure on policy makers to depoliticise aid and build longer lasting capacity this will not be the last we hear from this troubled region. This charity exhibition and auction, as well as engaging audiences, aims to raise money for projects throughout the region including direct relief, development and displacement issues.

A £4 donation will be expected at the door. If you are not able to attend please kindly donate directly to the justgiving page.
