Voices of the Children of the LRA
22 Mar 2012
Marcus Bleasdale conducted interviews with children abducted by the Lords Resistance Army. He collected these personal testimonies over a period of several months in 2010 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic and Uganda for Human Rights Watch and the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting.
This video was posted online last week whilst a debate raged over the validity of an organisation’s motives for making a very public plea to bring an end to the rule of terror perpetrated by Joseph Kony – the ruthless leader of the LRA. Bleasdale has spent many years working in and around Congo, this story is unfortunately not new to him and he has worked tirelessly to tell the awful truth that exists in plain sight for anyone concerned enough to see.
May the voices of these children and adults serve to remind us that the only discussion worth having is how to stop the LRA and the atrocities Kony continues to commit with impunity.
