Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Eugene Richards studied photography under Minor White. His first book, the self-published Dorchester Days became the catalyst for his joining of Magnum Photos as he continued his editorial work often based around social issues, drug abuse and the American family.<\/p>\n

His most recent publication, The Blue Room, is a study of abandoned homes in rural America. Richards travelled around the American landscape for over three years, looking into these forgotten residences. His resulting sequence of colour photos are a homage to the mystery and beauty of these places.<\/p>\n
