Listen to industry experts revealing how this could be a great opportunity for a cross-fertilisation of styles and methodologies, as well as learning how to get the most from your photographs. Speakers will discuss their ventures into film and multimedia, collaborations with other artists, photographers and NGOs and being able to successfully situate yourself in a commercial realm, in order to fund personal work. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Each speaker will talk for approximately one hour, leaving ample time for questions afterwards. Following the first two sessions, participants will be put into groups in which each person will have the opportunity to show and speak about their work and receive feedback from speakers and other seminar participants.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica;\"><\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Confirmed speakers<\/span><br \/><\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica;\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/mishka.lockandhenner.com\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"float: left;\" class=\"review_photo\" alt=\"mishkahenner\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.foto8.com\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/mishkahenner.jpg?resize=150%2C151&#038;ssl=1\" height=\"151\" width=\"150\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/>Mishka Henner<\/a> \u2013 photographer<br \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica;\">Henner is a photographer and artist living and    working in Manchester, England. He read sociology at Loughborough University and Goldsmiths College in  London. His practice makes use of environmental portraiture,  landscape studies and local archives to represent the lives of  post-industrial towns and communities still reeling from sustained  industrial decline. His work was featured in the exhibtiion <em>From Here On <\/em>(2011), a group show  representing the new age of photography at Les Rencontres d\u2019Arles in  France.&nbsp;In Arles, Henner was presented with the Kleine Hans award for six bookworks  he produced between 2010 and 2011. His publication <em>Winning Mentality<\/em> was acquired by the Tate Collection of Artists\u2019 Books in 2010. His work has been published in Photoworks,  Ojo Depez, Photography Now, and Else Magazine. Henner is a Panos Profile photographer and is a member of the ABC Artists\u2019 Books Cooperative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: helvetica;\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gideonmendel.com\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"float: left;\" class=\"review_photo\" alt=\"gideon-mendel\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.foto8.com\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/gideon-mendel.jpg?resize=150%2C225&#038;ssl=1\" height=\"225\" width=\"150\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/>Gideon Mendel<\/a> &#8211; photographer<br \/>Mendel is a leading contemporary photographer. His intimate style of socially-engaged image making, much of it dealing with HIV\/AIDS in Africa and other pressing global issues, has earned him international acclaim. He has won six World Press Photo Awards, the Eugene Smith Award for Humanistic Photography and the Amnesty International Media Award. In his current practice he is engaged with a variety of innovative projects often involving collaborative work along with a mix of photography and video. He is also developing a body of work on the global impact of flooding and climate change on the world\u2019s poorest people. Presently he is working on two large-scale multimedia projects: Through Positive Eyes, a global project involving working with groups of HIV positive activists, and Kingsmead Eyes Speak, a radical collaboration with a class of pupils at Kingsmead Primary School in Hackney who documented their friends, families, community and school life.<br \/><\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"review_photo\" style=\"float: left;\" alt=\"ewenspencer\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.foto8.com\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/ewenspencer.jpg?resize=150%2C170&#038;ssl=1\" height=\"170\" width=\"150\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ewenspencer.com\/\">Ewen Spencer<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-family: helvetica;\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ewenspencer.com\/\"> <\/a>\u2013 photographer<br \/>In the late 90\u2019s Spencer&#8217;s groundbreaking editorial for The Face and Sleazenation spoke to an audience interested in subcultures, multiculturalism, music,&nbsp;graphic art, photography, fashion and primarily youth culture.&nbsp;In 2001 he embarked on a project documenting British&nbsp;adolescents as they come to terms with socialising, dating and sex. In 2002 Martin Parr tipped him as the most promising newcomer of&nbsp;that year. Commercial clients started calling and he began working with bands&nbsp;producing cover art and behind the scenes tour material for The Streets and The White&nbsp;Stripes. In 2004 London\u2019s burgeoning grime scene allowed him access to make photographs&nbsp;during open mic session in and around London. The resulting book \u201cOpen Mic\u201d led to him being awarded a D&amp;AD for photographic publishing. More recently Spencer has directed a short film for Massive Attack in conjunction with their last album. He has regular commercial clients including Nike, Umbro and T-mobile and also pursues his interest in youth and sub cultures currently working on several self-initiated projects exploring these themes.<br \/><\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: helvetica;\"><br \/><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.zoewhishaw.com\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"float: left;\" class=\"review_photo\" alt=\"ZW\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.foto8.com\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/ZW.jpg?resize=150%2C117&#038;ssl=1\" height=\"117\" width=\"150\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/>Zoe Whishaw<\/a> &#8211; Commercial photography consultant<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: helvetica;\">Zoe Whishaw provides creative direction, strategic advice and mentoring services for photographers, photo agencies and businesses. As a seasoned Editor and Art Director she has had many years of experience analysing and critiquing ideas and photography intended for commercial use across a broad spectrum of subject areas. Zoe has developed and contributed to the success of leading media company, Getty Images, where she worked for 17 years in senior creative and strategic positions, latterly as European Director of Photography. As a passionate believer in photography\u2019s power to communicate at all levels, Zoe transmits her enthusiasm and excitement through speaking widely at workshops and conferences.
