(A-L) National immunization day in the village of Daman, located on a 7600 ft (2322 M) ridge in the Himalayas. Gurnug and Magar people live in villages and settlements throughout the mountains and many walk for hours to reach the vaccination station.

(L) India, Bhuj District. In the Rabari village of Sumerasar, 103 children are being immunized against polio with the help of the Matriarch. Rabari people have preserved their semi-nomadic way of life and while the men attend to the livestock in the desert, the women are left to run the village affairs.
